Through Our Eyes: What I’m Thankful For

Throughout all my years in the Templeton School District, it wasn’t until now that I realized how blessed I am to be able to attend Templeton High School.  It is a school of joy, hope, and journey. As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a second to appreciate all the experiences and lessons this school has given me. I am grateful for the friends I have made, the teachers who have supported me, and the work ethic and drive Templeton Schools have instilled in me throughout the years.

One class I especially owe great gratitude towards is Link Crew.  Link Crew is a class of mostly upperclassmen who help freshmen transition to the high school.  As a freshman, my Link Crew leader, Chloe, inspired me to be a better version of myself and join Link Crew as a junior to help others.  This is my second year in Link Crew. I am also very thankful for our Link Crew teacher, Mr. Mac, for always reminding us that we are worthy and for setting an example of what it means to be a leader.

High school is not the easiest to get through.  Coming into high school, I expected to have my same friends by my side the entire time, which ultimately was not the case at all.  I soon came to realize that sometimes the people you have known the longest aren’t always the people who are best for you. I know that the friends whom I have now are people who will be in my life forever.  They have helped me to realize who I really am and who I want to be. Being surrounded by such a positive group of people has helped me to have a more positive outlook on life and my future beyond Templeton High School.

Lastly, I am thankful for the spirit and closeness of this school.  Clubs such as Wingmen have given me a reason to get excited about the games and a reason to be involved.  I have learned to accept that it is okay to be different and embrace what makes us unique. Thank you THS for all you have given me over the past three and a half years, I am forever grateful.

Ashley Lewis is a senior at Templeton High School. She is the president of the District 7 California Rodeo and the President of Link Crew. She is very involved with our agriculture classes at THS.  Ashley is also a very spirited individual and we are glad to have her on campus.
