Caring, fair, encouraging – words that so many share when describing this month’s “Staff Member of the Month”, Deputy Paul Munoz.
Munoz serves as the “School Resource Deputy” at THS and says he focuses on “school safety, instruction and being a liason for the community.”
Deputy Munoz is present and visible around campus interacting with students and adults regularly which gives him the opportunity to be an encouragement to others but also to be a visible deterent. He also serves as a liason serving as a conduit for information connecting the Sheriff’s department and the community. It is not unusual to find him in a classroom sharing his knowledge. He has been a guest in Mr. Lewis’ Criminal Justice class and Mrs. Warren’s Drivers Education course.
On Wednesday the THS ASB invited Munoz to their class to speak but then surprised him with the “Staff Member of the Month” honor. Students toasted to him with Martinelli’s, he was presented with a gift from our parent support group “The Culture Initiative”, he also received a “Dinner for Two” certificate to Ian McPhees, and watched a video tribute that showed students sharing what they appreciated most about him. We are blessed as a school and as a district to have Deputy Munoz on our campus.
