Clubs are starting back up at THS! There are so many different kinds of clubs to get involved in, so where do you start? Templeton High School is proud to have a few amazing community service clubs. CSF, Interact, and Letterman’s Club are always looking for people who want to help serve their community.
California Scholastic Federation, or CSF, is a “non-profit organization whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service among middle and high school students in California” according to the president of our chapter, Hannah Macfarlane. In order to be a part of this club members must complete at least 15 hours of community service per semester and meet certain academic requirements. They meet twice a semester, and complete their service hours either individually or working with other members of the community. Over distance learning CSF is still meeting but community service hours are no longer required because lockdown has made doing so much more difficult.
“Students who join CSF do so because they want to give back to the community, they want to help make a difference in the lives of others, and because they like the feeling that comes with helping those in our community who are trying to make our community a better place.”-Hannah Macfarlane
If you are interested in joining CSF they are looking for members who “want to help make a difference in the lives of others” If that sounds like you, there are Google Classroom links for each grade on the THS website. If you have any questions about CSF please contact Hannah Macfarlane (firstname.lastname@example.org ) or the CSF advisor, Mr. Mac (email@example.com).
Interact is a club that partners with the Templeton Rotary Club to do community service, volunteer at events and do fundraisers for local organizations. They meet the second Friday of each month to discuss various community service opportunities. As with all of our community service clubs the pandemic has shut down many community service opportunities which has greatly impacted what these clubs do. As of right now Interact is trying to do everything they can to help our community by “reaching out to local organizations to see what they need, and how we can help them” in the words of club president Ava Lawrence.
“Interact is a great way to get involved not only within the school, but also the community.”-Ava Lawrence
Interact members “are willing to voluntarily give their time to help those who are in need” and are devoted to doing all they can to help make our community a better place. If that sounds like you, you can get involved by joining their Google Classroom (code: jriosje). If you have any other questions, reach out to Ava Lawrence. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Letterman’s Club is a group of student athletes “want to give back to their community by performing service events to help those who need it” according to their President Austin Marquart. They meet to discuss community service opportunities to partake in. All of the members of Letterman’s are student athletes who are willing to volunteer their time to better the community around them. If you are an athlete and want to represent your team and your school through community service Letterman’s is for you! Please email Austin Marquart if you have any questions (email@example.com).
“All members of the THS Letterman’s Club are Templeton High School athletes who want to and are willing to give back to the community.”-Austin Marquart
